REAL AMERICANS WON'T VOTE DEMOCRATIC

Hillary Clinton is a closet McCain Supporter. Whom do you really believe she will vote for on November 4? Senator Clinton, a long-time admirer of John McCain, has repeatedly said she believes Senator Obama is not ready to for the presidency because he lacks the experience necessary to lead. She said,"In this election we need a nominee who can pass the Commander in Chief test. ... Senator McCain will bring a time of experience to the campaign. I will bring a lifetime of experience and Senator Obama will bring a speech he gave in 2002. I think that is a significant difference."

Dear Friends: I wrote the following to "Athena," a Hillary Supporter (and apparently, a FORMER Democrat) who is now backing John McCain. She does not believe the Democratic Party is going to be reformed in her lifetime. She is dead right.

I hope Republican candidates in all states will say something similar to what I did to Athena. THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEM AS INDIVIDUALS. THEY WANT THEIR VOTE BUT NOT THEIR INPUT.

Candidates like Steve Sauerberg (Illinois, against Dick Durbin) and Jeff Beatty (Massachusetts, against John Kerry) must provide some hard truths to Democrats in their state. If the truth hurts, so be it. Truth is always superior to fantasies and illusions.

I'm going around telling people to LEAVE the Democrat Party, to become independents or Republicans. To my amazement, a good many of them are, including Athena. If Steve and Jeff can convince many Democrats to do the same, they will win. If they don't, they will lose. Letter to Athena follows:

Athena, I'll work with you anyway you want. Heck, you can have a kidney if you need one!

http://dncreform.com is the key. My own congressman, Jason Altmire, represents a district where Hillary won two-to-one (plus). She won my county (Beaver, home of Joe Namath and Mike Ditka) by 28,000 to 12,000. All my relatives voted for her. Jason Altmire got $10,000 from Barack Obama (see dncreform). Guess who Jason Altmire is backing?

Patrick Murphy, congressman and beloved of Moveon, which HATES HRC has a district that also went for Hillary by two-to-one. He got $18,000 from BHO. He was one of the first in the country to back Obama.

They believe Democrats in PA are stupid. They believe they will get away with it, and they probably will. PA Dems (some) believe JFK is still running things. But the issues confronting this country are life-and-death, and it's no longer okay for people to vote like robots.

The Democratic Party has become a refuge for people who are cynical, unpatriotic, and committed to a form of socialism that's little more than vote-buying. The America the Democrats see has more in common with Hugo Chavez than with George Washington or John F. Kennedy.

It ticks me off. It almost breaks my heart.

Hillary's colleagues in the Senate deserted her in droves. WV went for Hillary by a huge margin, but good ole Jay Rockefeller backed Obama. Bob Casey did the same thing in Pennsylvania.

As I said, who exactly is going to reform the Democratic Party? It's much, much worse than people think. There's contempt for the voters.

How could HRC ever have gotten the nomination when states voted massively for her and all the SDs (Massachusetts, esp.) went for Obama. Those facts make Hillary's speech in Denver all the more disgraceful. Thankfully, her manic, self-aborbed campaign is finally over. Hopefully, she'll spend her free time working on character issues, the ones that led her to choose Party over Country.

There, Athena, you got me wound up. Congrats for you on McCain. He's an American hero and an honorable man -- and Obama isn't.

Democrats "Party Loyalty" Sinking Fast

Lifelong Democrats increasingly are deserting the sinking ship that is their Party . . . That has huge implications for Republican candidates . . .

This has been one busy week, and it's only Wednesday. I've been posting mainly e-mails from Democrats who are no longer comfortable being Democrats. Many of them are now disgusted Democrats, or Independent, or -- in some cases -- (shudder) Republicans. If you scroll down, you'll see some examples. I'll have up more tomorrow.

Consider the following comments by Latonia, a Democrat totally dismayed by her Party:

Republican candidates should go after those disgusted Democrats. In many case, there own represenatives are major factors in their disgust. Democrats like Jason Altmire and Patrick Murphy accepted campaign "contributions" from Obama. Then, they (coincidentally) backed Obama during and after the Pennsylvania Primary. Altmire will claim that's not true -- that he was "undecided." In fact, he fawned all over Sen. Obama during the primary season. It's a good idea to never believe anything Jason Altmire says. As for Murphy, a veteran, he jointed the anti-military wing of the Democratic Party as soon as Nancy Pelosi winked at him.

If these are the kind of congressman Pennsylvania wants, then God help us!

By the way, Altmire's opponent is Melisss Hart. Murphy's is Tom Manion. They need your support to defeat their morally corrupt opponents.


The following shows the usual pro-Obama media bias, but if you read between the lines, it says a lot about Clinton backers going to McCain. Barack Obama expressed his general contempt for the people of Pennsylvania (supposedly "clinging" to our guns and our God), and no one has forgotten the remarks.

Ex-Clinton supporters show at McCain gathering

A brother of New York Sen. Hillary Clinton and local Democrats who backed her unsuccessful presidential campaign socialized privately Monday with a top surrogate of the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, Arizona Sen. John McCain.

The private gathering featured Carly Fiorina, McCain’s top economic adviser, and took place at the Dunmore home of political consultant Jamie Brazil, a longtime friend of Clinton’s family who has signed on as paid national director of McCain’s Citizens for McCain Coalition.

The attendees included Tony Rodham, Clinton’s youngest sibling, his wife, Megan, and their two children; attorney Kathleen Granahan Kane, who coordinated Clinton’s presidential campaign in northeast Pennsylvania during the Pennsylvania primary election; and Virginia McGregor, the sister of Scranton Mayor Chris Doherty.

With the Democratic National Convention less than a week away, the gathering raises questions about the support Illinois Sen. Barack Obama can expect from former local supporters of Clinton, who dominated voting in the northeast in the April primary election. Clinton won 74 percent of Lackawanna County Democrats, to Obama’s 26 percent.

Fiorina’s day-long local visit, part of a two-day bus tour of the state, was aimed at talking disenchanted former supporters of Clinton into supporting McCain. The private gathering was not a fundraiser.

“I think there’s going to be a groundswell of support for McCain,” said Lackawanna County District Attorney Andy Jarbola, a Republican and one of the people who attended. “I think a lot of Hillary supporters are going to be for McCain.”

Efforts to reach Brazil, Rodham and a spokesman for Clinton were unsuccessful.

Ellen Mellody, the northeast spokeswoman for Obama’s campaign, declined to comment on Rodham’s presence at the meeting, but said Obama’s backing by Clinton and Gov. Ed Rendell is supplemented by growing local support.

“We’re seeing huge support and momentum throughout the region,” Mellody said. “Currently, we have over 1,000 volunteers, many of which are independent Republicans and former Clinton supporters and volunteers. We expect to sign up hundreds more in the coming weeks. We have three offices open in the region and we are opening two more shortly.”

Kane said her presence at the gathering should not be read as a sign of support for McCain.
“I don’t know. I’m not sure. I’m trying to get as much information as I can on both of them,” she said when asked if she’s backing McCain. “I would have loved to see her as president. We still have a week to go. You never know what’s going to happen at the convention. I think she would be a fantastic choice (for vice president).”

Kane said she didn’t read Rodham’s presence as a sign he’s supporting McCain.

“No, it definitely does not. The reason he was there was because he and Jamie are very good friends,” Kane said. “I think that was just a social call.”

McGregor declined to say if she’s supporting Obama, but said she attended because Brazil is a friend.

“I was always a fan of Carly,” she said.

McGregor’s appearance also is no indicator of the position of her brother, Doherty, she said.
“It didn’t mean anything,” said McGregor, who ran Doherty’s successful 2005 re-election campaign. “I’m just a housewife. I’m a nobody.”

Doherty has publicly endorsed Obama.

Fiorina spoke briefly about McCain’s economic policies, but mostly mingled with her audience, Jarbola said. About 20 people attended.

After dropping by Brazil’s home, Fiorina addressed a public event at the Ramada Inn in South Abington Township. About a third of the audience was Democrats, based on a show of hands Fiorina requested.

Fiorina peppered her Ramada remarks with references to Clinton . . .

Brazil is a longtime close friend of the Rodham family and a friend of Rendell, who also supported Clinton.

Rendell is endorsing Obama, although he has said he will vote for Clinton when her name is placed in nomination at the convention next week.

Lackawanna County Recorder of Deeds Evie Rafalko McNulty, a Clinton convention delegate who plans to support Obama after the convention, lamented Rodham’s appearance at Brazil’s home for the private get-together with Fiorina.

“Poor Hillary,” she said. “You can pick you friends, but you can’t pick your family.”

Obama's Effect on GOP Candidates

The following paragraphs discuss races involving John McCain, Melissa Hart, Tom Manion, Toni Gilhooley . . . and Marina Kats.

Of course, it's critical for Pennsylvania congressional candidates that John McCain win this state -- and hopefully, win it big. To a large extent, "as McCain goes, so go the congressional challengers."

Another column discusses my political relationships -- over the past three months -- with Hillary Clinton Supporters who will -- or, in some cases -- may support John McCain. In several congressional races -- including Hart-Altmire, Manion-Murphy, and Gilhooley-Holden -- the Democrat basically stabbed Mrs. Clinton in the back. The Republican candidates need to exploit that face -- and even make it part of their advertising campaign. No Democrat in Pennsylvania or elsewhere can support Barack H. Obama without carrying some of the baggage he brings.

Also, I hope Marina Kats keeping asking her opponent, Schwartz, if she supports Obama, including his contempt for Pennsylvanians outside urban areas.

Hillary Supporters Targeting Altmire's Defeat

The McCain Campaign, as I learned today on a conference call consisting of 80 groups backing Hillary Clinton (and a handful of GOP activists, including me), is making major efforts to reach out to Hillary Supporters. These Hillaryites and friends share a common goal: exposing and defeating Barack Obama. The effort is generating national -- and even international -- publicity. Some of the most significant activists in American politics participated in the Conference Call.

The McCain Camp has its most senior campaign people, including Carly Fiorina (a possible V-P choice) talking -- and mainly listening -- to Hillary Supporters. I've said on this blog that wthout significant support from them, there will be no victory, and I believe that's also John's view.

Today on the call, the head of Women for Fair Politics said that she feared "the train (the possible nomination of HRC) had left the station. She also said she hoped everyone would do what, in their own hearts and minds, is the right thing. She noted, in essence, that will be different strokes for different folks.

The moderator of the call was Cristi Adkins, an activist and media guru, who should be writing soon about today's activities on the following web site: http://www.clintons4mccain.com/. I'll have up soon other web sites and e-mail addresses you can use in this "JustSayNoBama" effort.

The outreach going on has significant implications for Pennsylvania candidates, especially Melissa Hart (opposing Jason Altmire), Toni Gilhooley (opposing Tim Holden), and Tom Manion (opposing Patrick Murphy). In all cases, the Democratic incumbents helped pave the way for Sen. Clinton's eventual defeat in the battle for the Party's nomination. In districts that went two-to-one for Mrs. Clinton, "SuperDelegates" ended up -- or even started out -- supporting Barack Obama.

No self-respecting Hillary backer will vote for -- or otherwise support -- Altmire, Holden, or Murphy. Efforts are underway -- see, for example, http://www.dncreform.com/ -- to target and defeat people like these three Democrats, as well as selected others around the country. You'll hear more about that soon.

Murphy, Altmire: Accepted Political Payoffs

In Pennsylvania Democratic politics, vote-buying and racism are time-"honored" traditions. In the 2006 gubernatorial race, Democrat Ed Rendell sent out $740,000 in so-called "walking around money," mainly to Black districts in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh (source: The Almanac of American Politics, p. 1378, 2008 edition). Was this money to buy votes? I'm "shocked, shocked" to hear that you think so. In his campaign (against Black Republican Lynn Swann)., Rendell ran commercials against his African-American opponent. Some of the TV ads were in black-and-white and slow motion. They made Swann, an NFL-Hall-of-Fame football player and national sports reporter, look like a numbers runner in Harlem in the 1940s. For those of you who don't pay a lot of attention to Pennsylvania politics, this is probably the first time you're hearing these stories. It's par for the course -- and so are the payoffs by the Obama Campaign for "services rendered" by Congressmen Patrick Murphy and Jason Altmire. In PA Democratic politics, money talks . . . a blue-state streak.

Exactly how much "walking around money" does Barack Obama intend to pour into Philadelphia, Pittsburgh (and don't forget Harrsiburg and Lancaster!)? Since Obama has gone back on his word to accept public financing, he will have perhaps a half-billion dollars (!!!!) to play around with. That should make the vote-buyers and street corner "consultants" in urban Pennsylvania very happy. On the question of "how much?" perhaps one of our intrepid PA journalists might ask him? But that may be asking too much.

One of the great mysteries this year has been why Democratic SuperDelegates (elected officials) in Pennsylvania supported Barack Obama when their districts (and state) went heavily for Hillary Clinton. Information recently released by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) Reform organization shows they did it for old-fashioned reasons: they got paid off.

Three of the biggest culprits are Rep. Patrick Murphy (8th district, Bucks County), Rep. Jason Altmire (4th district, western PA), and Rep. Tim Holden (17th district, Harrisburg area). As discussed in previous columns, Murphy endorsed Obama last August and Altmire did so in June, when he said mysteriously that he remained "undeclared" but that he "supported" Obama.
Holden refused to endorse Sen. Clinton even given her popularity among his constituents..

How did these men's districts vote?

Murphy's southeastern PA district went for Mrs. Clinton by 78,655 to 46,287.

Altmire's western PA district went for Mrs. Clinton by 84,122 to 43,962.

Holden's central PA district went for Mrs. Clinton by a smaller margin as her huge victory in Schuykill (combined with smaller victories in Lebanon and Perry) wiped out Obama's margin in Dauphin County (Harrisburg). Exact results up later on Saturday.

During the Primary season, Holden refused to declare which candidate he was supporting. After Sen. Clinton's concession, as reported previously, he announced his position was "moot." Presumably at the convention he will cast his "moot" ballot for Sen. Obama.

There's no record of Holden receiving money from the Obama Campaign, but it's conceivable he could between now and the election (Nov. 4). With Murphy and Altmire, the situation is different.

The Obama Campaign handed over to Murphy a large "donation" with a strange total: $18,826. The "contribution" obviously derived from Murphy's support of the Illinois Senator.

In the case of Altmire, the donation was somewhat smaller: $10,000.

Were these apparent contributions for services rendered illegal? Apparently not. Were they examples of unethical behavior? I'll leave that up to you.

What's very clear is that Murphy, Altmire, and Holden went against the will of the voters in their districts. Apparently, they did so because they believe voters have short memories. Whether they're correct is up to the voters to determine.

Tip O'Neill famously said that "money is the mother's milk of politics." One has the hunch that Murphy and Altmire will never lack for "mother's milk," at least while the Obama money-machine is around.

Will the large and angry group of Hillary Clinton Supporters seek retribution, not only on Murphy and Altmire, but also on wafflers like Holden? There's a good chance Hillaryites will target those Democratic incumbents for defeat.

In the words of the DNC Reform organization, "Super Delegates on the list [like Altmire and Murphy] MUST be held accountable for their lack of courage and inability and unwillingness to stand up for the will and voice of the voters.". (www.dncreform.com)

They all need your support -- moral, political, and financial.

Democrats Against Second Amendment Rights

It's not even July yet, but this is an absolutely critical time for John McCain and other GOP candidates for federal office. I'm working harder than I ever have -- and it's all on the Internet. I am spending most of my time trying to get Hillary Supporters to back McCain and other GOP candidates (especially those facing incumbents who cynically backed Obama. I'll be writing today about those Hillaryites and my work to influence them on the following blogs:

For John McCain, if he can somehow get 5 million of the 18 million-plus Hillary Supporters, he will win.
For Congressional candidates, if you can get 25%-30% of those Hillary Supporters, mainly by showing them how they shafted Sen. Clinton, you will win on November 4. It's that simple -- and that challenging.

The columns below deal with areas on which the Democratic candidates for federal offices (the Presidency, the Senate, and the House) are extremely weak: guns and gas prices. On Friday afternoon, I'll put up Melissa Hart's devastating press release skewering her opponent (Jason Altmire) on gun rights.

BULLETIN ON SUPREME COURT UPHOLDING SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS: Sent following to Melissa Hart, Toni Gilhooley, Tom Manion, and Steve Sauerberg:

Steve Sauerberg, candidate against Dick Durbin for the U.S. Senate in Illinois, is one of my "adopted" candidates, and his statement on Second Amendment rights (which some Democrat House members supposedly support) is a good one. [Scroll down to see Steve's release.]

Frankly, anyone who votes for Nancy Pelosi as Speaker is not a supporter of Second Amendment rights. In the House, the Speaker has absolute power over what gets considered and what doesn't, and Pelosi's attitude against gun rights borders on the hydrophobic.

Supporters of Pelosi backers Altmire, Murphy, and Holden who are also for gun rights are kidding themselves. Their advocacy of the Second Amendment becomes nothing more than an empty campaign promise.

The first act for both men in 2007 was to vote Pelosi in (unanimously) and their first act in 2009 would be to do the same.

Also, their presidential candidate, Obama, has a terrible record on gun rights, and if Altmire, Murphy, and Holden support him for President, they are misleading their constituents. An Obama presidency would set gun right back 200 years.

John McCain supports Second Amendment rights -- while Obama and Pelosi do not.

It's that simple. No gun owner in his or her right mind can vote for Altmire, Murphy, or Holden, let alone an anti-gun extremist like Senator Durbin. (In Durbin's and Obama's cases, they bascially have said they would appoint or vote for leftist judges who would disregard the Second Amendment, just as Clinton appointees Breyer and Ginsberg did.)


June 26, 2008 Press Release: Sauerberg Applauds Supreme Court Decision on the Second Amendment

"As a proud gun owner, I believe in the individual Constitutional right to keep and bear arms," said Republican Nominee for U.S. Senate Steve Sauerberg, M.D. "Today, the Supreme Court affirmed that right."

"If Senator Dick Durbin had his way, the Second Amendment would no longer exist," Sauerberg said.

"Senator Durbin approved judges who used their own beliefs to argue that the Second Amendment means basically nothing, and Senator Durbin opposed the judges who affirmed that Constitutional right to bear arms.

"Sauerberg believes existing gun laws sufficiently balance the need to protect individual rights with the public's desire to reduce gun violence. Sauerberg argued that aggressive prosecution, rather than further legislation, is the key to combating gun violence.

Sauerberg also reiterated his support of strict constructionist judges. "The next U.S. Senator from Illinois needs to insist that any new Judges have a common-sense approach to jurisprudence."

Democrats' Gas Prices Destroying America

If you like $7 a gallon gasoline, you're going to love Obama and the congressional Democrats . . . also, will the GOP candidate pictured below be both the first Black President and the first female President?

Dr. Deborah Travis Honeycutt, head of a free medical clinic in Georgia and an evangelical Christian, is running as a Republican candidate for Congress in Georgia's 13th District. And is she ever. Dr. Honeycutt has raised approximately $2 million (probably more), none of it from PACs -- that is, all of it from individuals. This weekend (Saturday evening) I'll feature her and two more African-American Republicans, Antoine Members and Anthony Williams, both from Chicago, IL. THEY ALL NEED YOUR SUPPORT! (Deborah, please run on the gas issue -- see below.)

When Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and the Democrats took over both Houses of Congress in 2006, the average price of unleaded gas was $2.45 a gallon. Ms. Pelosi said the Democratic were "going to do something about it." Yeah, they sure did. Nancy, payback is . . . well, you know the word.

[On my Hillary Supporters for McCain blog, I have new information about the "Larry Sinclair scandal" now swirling around Barack Obama. Sinclair has made explosive charges regarding drugs and other matters concerning the Illinois Senator. ]

Basically, the main issue in this campaign is whether the Democrats will continue to advocate $6-$7 a gallon gasoline by blocking exploration and production of oil off-shore and in Alaska. For 20 years they have been blocking production in a tiny area of ANWR and in most of the OCS, which means we don't have the gasoline supply now that we should.

Are the Democrats who oppose such drilling -- Altmire, Murphy, Holden, Sestak, Schwartz, Doyle, and others -- going to own up to their direct responsibility for the gasoline crisis? Hey, they're just doing what Nancy Pelosi told them to.

Barack Obama believes the high gasoline prices, which are driving families and communities to the economic wall, are good for the country. He wants them to go higher, and he's leading his PA cronies along as if they had rings in their noses.

Keep these people in office, and fairly soon four-buck-a-gallon gasoline will seem like the good old days. I hope Republican challengers attach this issue to the incumbents the same way they'd pin a tail to a donkey. Hugo Chavez ought to send all of the Democrats listed a campaign contribution.

It is disgusting, and it is damaging the American Way of Life. It must stop.

In PA, WV, and OH, the ecomomies of untold communities depend to a significant degree on the development of clean coal technology and production. The Democrats didn't even include it in their poor excuse for an "energy bill." Two generations ago, Germany was running its economy on liquefied coal.

Why aren't we doing the same? Oh, right, the Democrats and Obama don't like coal. They also don't much like nuclear power, which is free of carbon emissions. I give up.

What exactly is it that they like? Oh right, corn-based ethanol, which is driving up your food prices and aggravating world hunger. Shameful.

Why not send each of the challengers above a $25 donation -- more if you wish. Twenty-five bucks is a lot less than you'll paying for a half a tank of gas if the docile Dems keep blocking America from producing its own oil.

Democrats Caused Gas Price Spike

The column below is from my national blog focuses on one senatorial race -- Illinois Republican Steve Sauerberg against Sen. Dick Durbin. But the points apply to every race for federal office, from the presidency on down. (http://sauerbergforussenate.com)

Of course, the Democrats want to blame George W. Bush for everything but President Bush has been warning for many years about the consequences of our "addiction to oil." He has been emphasizing the need for more production.

The Democrats should not get away with scapegoating, because the responsibility for mushrooming gasoline prices is theirs and their alone.

Gasoline prices are what is going to defeat many Democrats in this year's election. It will be the reasons for the currently unexpected losses of congressional representatives like Jason Altmire, (opposed by Melissa Hart), Tim Holden (opposed by Toni Gilhooley), Patrick Murphy (opposed by Tom Manion), and Allyson Schwartz (opposed by Marina Kats). They're the ones who voted to prohibit oil exploration and refinery expansions. George W. Bush did not "force" them in ways that have led to the disaster of $4-plus gasoline prices.

Barack Obama has said basically that skyrocketing gas prices are a good thing. He is going to regret such comments. People who believe rising gas prices are good thing are not going to get elected to anything.

When the Democrats took over Congress in 2006, Nancy Pelosi said she was "going to do something" about gasoline prices. She has. Under her "leadership," gasoline prices have gone up 75%. That's a point Republican challengers should drive home every day.

Issue #1 in the coming election is going to be the rapidly rising gasoline prices. It will not be Iraq, nor will it be health care or the overall economy. So . . .

How can individuals like Steve Sauerberg, Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate from Illinois (opposing Sen. Dick Durbin) pull off a totally unexpected victory? He needs to get across the point that re-electing people who are the causes of the nation's problems is a form of political insanity (i.e., doing the same thing repeatedly and hoping somehow for a different result).

A key point GOP challengers for federal offices must make is this: Only 22% of the American people approve of the performance of Congress, but many people are quick to defend their local person. In fact, Dick Durbin -- and many others like him -- ARE the Congress.

Durbin has been part of it since 1982, and anything that's wrong with it is frankly his fault. He's not somehow divorced from its failures. They're HIS failures.

Left-wing Democrats like Durbin have sought to blame the oil companies. In fact, it's not necessary to love those companies to recognize that they are in fact the ones that produce all the oil and gasoline. The producers are not the cause of the pain we all feel at the pump. The cause of the problem is a Congress that seeks to deflect blame -- and that has voted repeatedly with environmental extremists.

Over the years, Durbin and his allies have done everything in their power to ensure a rapid rise in gas prices. Voting against production -- and against creating new refineries -- is now exacting a terrible cost on the American people.

During Dick Durbin's tenure in Congress (since 1982), gasoline prices have more than tripled! (See http://moveondickdurbin.org).

What did Durbin do to prevent the gas price catastrophe? Nothing. What did he do to warn the American people? Nothing. So, what can we expect from a future Congress full of Durbins? Would you believe gasoline at $6-$7 a gallon (or more)? What is Durbin's plan to prevent such an economy-destroying development? He has none.

In fact, his approach is to ensure the U.S. produces LESS oil -- presumably so we can become more dependent on the Hugo Chavezes of the world.

The people of Illinois will re-elect someone like Durbin at their peril. He's presiding over the destruction of the American way-of-life, and he shouldn't be rewarded for that.

Cynical Superdelegates & Hillary's Loss

To All Candidates and Their Supporters: On my Hillary Supporters for McCain site (http://hillarysuportersformccain.blogspot.com), I repost Jean Avery's (http://moms4mccain.blogspot.com) interview with Randa from Florida, a lifelong Democrat who supported Hillary Clinton and now strongly backs John McCain. Please read Randa's comments, because they illustrate thoughts and feelings that are widespread among Democrats, especially women. You may be surprised to find out that you have a lot more in common with Democrat Randa, a mother of five, than you do many people on the Republican side. It's a must-read interview.

Oops, as one of the administrators at Clintons for McCain pointed out in a "comment," they don't accept contributions (which I discovered personally). I wish they eventually will accept contributions and play a major role -- perhaps as an independent 527 group -- in the coming election. I strongly recommend that everyone who feel sympathetic to the group (Hillary Supporters now backing McCain) would join and support the members.

I'm hoping many members of Clintons for McCain will support Pennsylvania candidates that include: Melissa Hart (4th district), Toni Gilhooley (17th district), Marina Kats (13th district), and Tom Manion (8th district). These individual's opponents all played significant roles in the shafting of Hillary Clinton, who won the Pennsylvania Primary by a huge majority.

Take as an example Manion's opponent Patrick Murphy, a first-term Democrat and a Superdelegate. Last August (!), Murply became one of the first Superdelegages to endorse Barack Obama. He has remained a staunch Obama backer and did everything in his power to ensure that the Illinois Senator won the nomination.

How effectively did Murphy reflect "the will of the voters?" He certainly didn't mirror the popular sentiment in PA, which Hillary won by 9.2%. But what about his own district, the 8th, centered in Southeastern PA" Bucks County? In the Primary, Mrs. Clinton won the vote by 70,253 to 41,791.

That decisive victory apparently impressed Murphy not-at-all. In essence, his motto was "The public be damned."

What about Melissa Hart's opponent, Democratic Superdelegate Jason Altmire? Again, Hillary carried his 4th district by historic majorities. She won my own county (Beaver) by 28,205 to 12,184. She won neighboring Lawrence by 12,581 to 3,349.

Gee, Altmire must have come out enthusiastically for Hillary, right? Surely you jest. On June 5, with Hillarey ready to concede, he told the RepublicanHerald.com that he remained "undeclared" but that he "supported Obama." Say what???

Rep. Tim Holden in Toni Gilhooley's district has earned a place in weasel-doom. Hillary carried his district (Harrisburg and surrounding counties) by a significant margin, but Holden never endorsed her. He also never endorsed Obama.

He now insists that the question of his vote is "moot." He may be the first elected official in history to vote "moot."Supporters of Hillary Clinton (or of anyone) can interpret for themselves what's going on here.

I'm supporting Melissa Hart, Toni Gilhooley, Marina Kats, and Tom Manion because they're superior candidates and superior -- as human beings -- to their Democrat opponents. I hope the people at Clintons for McCain will do the same.

There's a great deal more going wrong in the Democratic Party than merely the cynicism of people like Barack Obama, Howard Dean, Bob Casey, John Kerry, and Nancy Pelosi. The shafting of Sen. Clinton is reflective of a political party that's rotten to the core.

"Three Stooges" of Pennsylvania Politics

"The best way for a Democrat to get elected in Pennsylvania is to pretend he's pro-life and pro-gun -- and never explain why he's in a Party that's neither."

Note: At the bottom of this column is what might (key word) be some important information about Barack Obama's place of birth. Obama has a problem with saying things (about uncles that don't exist, for example) that aren't true, and this site is one of many working to keep him . . . honest.

In my earlier columns (scroll down), I've written about the "three stooges" of Pennsylvania politics: Sen. Bob Casey, Jr., Congressman Tim Holden (17th district, Harrisburg and surrounding counties), and Congressman Jason Altmire (4th district, western PA). As an honorary member -- the fourth "Stooge" -- we have Congressman Patrick Murphy of the 8th district (mainly Bucks County).

All of these gentlemen are Roman Catholics (as am I). All of them claim to be "pro-life." Actually, that claim is no more than a political gesture. Strong words, I know. But I hope they're words that these incumbents' opponents (Casey not up until 2012; Toni Gihooley against Holden; Melissa Hart against Altmire; and Tom Manion against Murphy) will also feel comfortable using.

If these candidates truly do have pro-life views, they keep some very strange company. Murply endorsed Barack Obama -- the most pro-abortion candidate ever to run for president. Obama favors partial-birth abortion, a procedure seen as hideous even by many liberals, as well as so-called "live-birth abortion," which Obama as an Illinois State Senator voted to allow. (Live-birth abortion results from botched abortions, where an injured infant is allowed to die rather than receive medical care.)

This the Obama enthusiastically supported by Casey and Murphy -- and (unenthusiastically?) supported by Altmire and Holden.

Jason Altmire ran for office as a pro-life Roman Catholic. When he got to Congress, however, he wait to vote for federal funding of research that resulted in the destruction of viable embryos.

Don't get me wrong: I believe elected officials have a constitutional right to be pro-choice. couldn't There are some very honorable people who hold such a position.

Rep. Tim Holden, a complete political sad-sack, claims to be pro-life. But of course he didn't challenge either of the presidential candidates taking a pro-abortion position. As I pointed out, Holden is perhaps the only Democratic Superdelegate who is STILL undeclared. He's the only delegate in history to declare his position as "moot," whatever that means.

Jason Altmire? As my earlier column notes, he has pronounced that he is still "undeclared," but that he "supports Barack Obama. " Since Obama is poised to lose Altmire's district in a landslide, we might assume that the words "Barack Obama" will not pass the congressman's lips until after the election.

How Altmire can be undeclared and declared at the same time is something I'll leave up to him to explain. Perhaps Altmire and others will announce someday that they were "for the Senator before they were against him."

The three (or four?) stooges of Pennsylvania politics clearly assume their constituents are political nitwits. They believe the secret to success in Keystone State politics is to talk out of both sides of their mouths.

Frankly, when a supposedly pro-life politican (such as Casey) backs presidential candidates who are militantly pro-abortion -- as Obama is -- then there is something very wrong going on.

Senator Bob Casey, Jr. comes from a family synonymous with respect for the sanctity of life. However, apparently because of a family-grudge against the Clintons, Casey campaigned day-and-night for Barack Obama, a candidate who's anathema to most Pennsylvanians. Casey has never explained his strange action. Apparently, he believes voters have very short memories.

Someone recently wrote me asking how someone like Casey could bring himself to back Barack Obama. The answer ultimately lies in the totally cynicism of Pennsylvania politics. Casey is pro-life when he's campaigning for moderate Democrat votes -- and then ignores the subject when he's safely in office.

If you're pro-honesty in politics, you will never again cast a vote for or donate money to people like Casey, Holden, Altmire, or Murphy. I hope you'll vote for and contribute to the following candidates, all of whom need and deserve your financial support.

Melissa Hart (against Altmire)
Toni Gilhooley (against Holden)
Tom Manion (against Murphy)

Cindy Reidhead of http://thepinkflamingo.blogharbor.com has been searching Hawaii records to determine that Barack Obama was in fact born in the U.S. (Hawaii). Here's the bulletin Cindy sent out Friday afternoon. (She's located in Hobbs, NM and was a protege of Republican political genius Lee Atwater.)

Murphy, Altmire: Pelosi's Political Lapdogs

Very well said by Jean Avery at Moms4McCain. "Last week, Howard Dean and friends gave delegates to someone who wasn't even on the ballot and took half the delegates from a candidate who was. And, by the way, she was also the first woman with a serious shot at the Presidency. Suddenly millions of American women who hung their hopes on Hillary are the Desirable Voting Bloc. (Sure, Hillary had male supporters, but because many women's motives differed, their response to her rejection may differ too.)"

Why is PA Republican congressional candidate Tom Manion (8th district) smiling these days?


(Note: The following column, down to the italicized section is reposting from today's post on my national blog; the section about the Melissa Hart-Jason Altmire race in PA's 4th congressional district is new.)


Today (Wednesday), I'll be writing more about a fascinating phenomenon I revealed yesterday on my Hillary Supporters for McCain site: the presence of a very large number (it may be in the millions) of Democrats (Hillary Supporters) who will NOT vote for Barack Obama.


Of great interest to GOP congressional and senatorial candidates, those Hillary Supporters are beginning to target "SuperDelegates" who went against the voters of their districts or states to support Obama. Such people include SuperDelegates (a profoundly anti-democratic concept in itself) like John Kerry, Bob Casey, Jr., Ted Kennedy, and Jay Rockefeller. Those individuals now look a lot more beatable in their next elections than they did a few weeks ago.

I've been discussing one particularly odious individual, Rep. Patrick Murphy of PA's 8th congressional district, centered in Bucks County in Southeastern PA. Murphy, one of Nancy Pelosi's particular favorites, came out for Obama last summer.

But how did Obama do in Bucks County? He got skunked by Hillary Clinton -- 70,253 votes to 41,791.

So, how exactly does Murphy's endorsement of Obama square with the wishes of his constituents? Of course, it doesn't. It shows that his constituents' views play little part in his actions.Can Tom Manion get a large chunk of those primary votes that went to Mrs. Clinton?
Exit polls and political developments on the Internet (see another of my columns) suggest he might be able to get at least one-third of them -- and perhaps more.

A lot of those Hillary voters are going to look at people like Murphy as Public Enemy Number 1. Murphy's opponent is 30-year Marine Corp veteran Tom Manion. Mr. and Mrs. Manion lost their son, Travis, a Naval Academy graduate, in Iraq.

Frankly, a totally politicized and cynical creep like Murphy has no business being in Congress. Manion is a better candidate and a better man. Hillary Supporters value toughness and authenticity in a candidate. They certainly won't support a Hillary hater like Murphy.

It's clear how Manion should proceed with the Hillary voters. First, he can ask for them. Second, he can point out how Murphy shafted Mrs. Clinton in the race for the nomination. Third, he can use the primary results to show how Murphy's views are totally at variance with those of Bucks County Democrats -- let alone with the views of Republicans and Independents.

Overall, the best thing Tom Manion has going for him will be the fact that he's not Patrick Murphy.

Tom Manion: go out and win this election. To do so, he needs your help -- including your donations.

Murphy has money pouring into his campaign from special interests, including far-left extremist groups like Moveon.org and the Daily Kos. In fact, the Daily Kos, which loves the Murphys of the world, expelled Hillary supporters from its web site. Its constant message could be summed up in two words: "Hate Hillary."

If people like you support Tom Manion, he can win this race.

I've suggested that people who are really serious about getting rid of Murphy give a part of their economic stimulus check to Manion. But even donations of as little as $10 to $20 will be very helpful.

What do Rep. Jason Altmire and Rep. Patrick Murphy have in common? They're both great favorites of Nancy Pelosi, and they both relied on deceiving their constituents in the 2006 election. They both "run right" -- and then "govern Left."

When Obama called their constituents a bunch of Bible-thumping, gun-toting bigots, how did Altmire and Murphy respond? They did by observing the rule that "silence is golden." They said nothing, hoping the controversy would blow over. It hasn't.

As a campaigner, Altmire said he opposed a "timetable" for Iraq and that he would rely on "commanders on the ground." Later, he described Iraq War opponent John Murtha, a major source of funds for Altmire, as his "campaign manager."

In fact, Altmire's commanders-on-the-ground as soon as he got to Congress were Nancy Pelosi and John Murtha. Altmire quickly voted for the timetable he'd early opposed. He assumes his constituents have short memories.

What about Obama and Altmire? When the Illinois Senator was campaigning in Altmire's western PA district (the 4th, where I live), he followed Obama around like a pet puppy. An inveterate poll-reader, Altmire didn't formally endorse Obama, although he did everything but kiss the Senator's ring.

Hillary Supporters might ask: why didn't Altmire endorse Hillary Clinton? She won the 4th district by a huge margin. She won my own heavily Democratic County (Beaver) by 28,000 to 12,000. She won neighboring Butler County by 6,000 votes. She won nearby Lawrence County by by 12,600 to 4,400.

Aware of the district's overwhelming preference for Hillary, Did Jason Altmire then rush to drape Hillary with his SuperDelegate mantle? Not exactly. You see, Altmire had to wait until he found out who won . . . before he could give his endorsement.

The only (after-the-fact) endorsement Jason Altmire has made is of Barack Obama. Hillary Supporters nationwide might enjoy targeting Altmire for defeat. They couldn't make a better choice. I hope every Hillary Supporter reading this will express their outrage at Altmire by building support for the congressman's GOP competitor.

I sent the following message to Krista and Tom about Gov. Sarah Palin:

Krista, will vote today. Keep up the great work. I hope Tom will endorse Sarah Palin for Republican V-P -- he may know little about her, but she's a human engine of victory in states like PA. I know the conventional wisdom is that candidates are supposed to cower in terror rather than make such endorsements. (Sarah got a great endorsement yesterday from Jack Kelly of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette -- see my blog below). Boldness and imagination are going to be necessary to win this year. Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

Tom MUST attract "unconventional groups" -- like women professionals, young people, and working-class families -- to win, and those are the very groups to whom Sarah has a special appeal.

I'm going to be on Sirius radio from New York tomorrow (Tuesday) at 5:30 p.m., and I'll try to mention Tom's campaign. (Gov. Palin's son is in U.S. Army infantry, something Tom may not know.)

Note: As far as competitive races, Melissa Hart versus Jason Altmire is a hot one, and Melissa may have a slight edge.

On Toni Gilhooley versus Tim Holden, that race could very well become intensely competitive about mid-October. People in Toni's district generally vote for Holden much the same way as Pavlov's dog salivated when the bell rang, but ex-cop Toni is changing that. She's my "upset special" for 2008.

On Marina Kats against Allyson Schwartz, the next three months (up to Labor Day) are crucial. Conceivably, Marina can move up to 45% by mid-October if she campaigns with tremendous intensity. When a race goes to 45-55%, it has reached the tipping point and becomes in essence too close to call.

The Lou Barletta-Paul Kanjorski race in the Scranton-Wilkes Barre area is uncertain. Kanjorski is involved is so many scandals right now that they could undermine his candidacy. He's probably the worst congressman in America.

An out-of-state candidate who has a slim (but intriguing) chance to win is Dana Walsh of California. Her opponents (I'm not making this up) are Nancy Pelosi and Cindy Sheehan (running as an Independent).

If Dana can get 40%-plus of the vote in her three-way race, she will be congresswoman-elect from San Francisco. Pelosi could then comfort herself with her husband's mega-millions. You'll hear a lot about this contest. The Democrats are pouring in gazillions of dollars.

All the challengers listed need your support, including financial donations. Please be generous.

Tom Manion v. Patrick Murphy

To new visitors, and there will be many coming in over the next six-eight weeks, thanks for coming. I'm trying to bring this blog to the attention of 500 or so Pennsylvanian movers-and-shakers, so that it might have a real influence on the campaigns. The following a line that every Republican candidate should use in his or her campaign. (It's attributed to former basketball star Charles Barkley (I'm trying to verify that he said it).

"The poor have been voting for Democrats for 50 years, and they're still poor."

A truth you won't hear from Obama or Rep. Patrick Murply: If a political party has a solid hold on a certain voting bloc, the last thing it wants to see is that group somehow disappear (i.e., in this case, have the poor get "un-poor").

THIS WEEKEND I'LL BE WRITING ABOUT TOM MANION V. "MODERATE" DEMOCRAT PATRICK MURPHY IN THE "BUCKS COUNTY" CONGRESSIONAL RACE. A "MODERATE DEMOCRAT" IS SOMETHING LIKE A CAT THAT BARKS. CONGRESSMAN MURPHY'S FIRST ACT IF HE'S RE-ELECTED WILL BE TO VOTE FOR SAN FRANCISCAN NANCY PELOSI FOR SPEAKER. That really tells you all you need to know about Patrick Murphy, one of the Beltway's young-men-on-the-make.

I support Tom Manion, but I do not speak for him. I speak for myself (and, I hope, millions of Pennsylvanians who are disgusted by the kind of cynicism and self-aggrandisement Murphy stands for. )

Tom Manion's son, Travis, was a Naval Academy graduate who died for his country in Iraq. Yes, Patrick Murphy served in Iraq . . . as an Army lawyer. He didn't "fight in Iraq" in any way, shape, or form.

In Congress, Rep. Murphy has joined Barack Obama and other left-wing Democrats calling for a precipitous retreat from Iraq. Murphy may have no grasp on the national security issues involved in Iraq, but he is very good at reading opinion polls.

Tom Manion can't say it, but I can: Congressman Murphy, like Obama, has taken positions on Iraq that inevitably embolden the enemy and thus endanger the lives of American fighting men and fighting women. Can anybody really deny that? Barack Obama did not earn the backing of Hamas' spokesman in America by proposing that the U.S. be tough on terrorism.

As for Murphy, I wonder if his stand on Hamas is as ambiguous and contradictory as Obama's. It's clear Murphy hasn't raised millions of dollars from left-wing groups by taking strong stands on anything that would offend the people at Moveon.org.

There is a way to criticize U.S. policy in Iraq in an honorable manner. But that way is not by offering what's in effect two thumbs-up to insurgents and mass murderers.

Congressman Murphy endorsed Barack Obama for President on August 21, 2007. It was an amazing acts -- and one totally at variance with the Democrats (not to mention the Republicans) in his district. In the 2006, Murphy showed he knew little about Bucks County, and as a certifiable Beltway type, he hasn't learned much more.

On April 22, Bucks County voted for Hillary Clinton by 70,253 to 41,793 for Obama. Hint: Bucks County wants nothing to do with the likes of Barack Obama.

Thus, with his backing of Obama, Murphy has spit in most of constituents' eyes. Any Hillary Clinton voter who backs Murphy in 2008 is joining him in heaping abuse on Mrs. Clinton's campaign. Murphy has clearly joined Howard Dean and other leftists who make up the "Democrat's old boys club" whose main purpose is to deny Mrs. Clinton the nomination.

What does Rep. Murphy think about Barack Obama's sneering comments about Pennsylvanians who supposedly "cling" to our guns, religion, racism, and xenophobia? In fact, as a Pennsylvanian, I know Obama talks about a state that doesn't exist. Murphy has been "strangely" silent. Perhaps he agrees with Obama?

Patrick Murphy is an ambitious man, too ambitious. He has a very bad habit of looking to his own future, rather than that of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, or the nation.

Murphy reflects the kind of cynicism and self-aggrandisement that have completely soured the American people on Congress. He doesn't deserve the votes of residents of the 8th district. Instead, he deserves their rejection.

Former Marine Tom Manion, like John McCain, is a warrior-through-and-through. He's a man with a lifetime of experience -- in contrast to Murphy, who's an individual who's spent a lifetime planning his next career move.
